During winter, it is possible to catch the setting sun against a snow capped Mt Feathertop. At sunset on a clear day, the suns rays illuminates the peak turning the snow cap a pink colour. This scene took me three attempts over 3 years to catch the phenomena. This was achieved August 2012.
The Ovens Valley of North East Victoria is renowned for its scenery and hilly regions. In winter, Mt Buffalo and nearby peaks of Mt Feathertop and Mt Hotham provides a unique alpine environment with snow capped peaks not found anywhere else on the Australian mainland.
