This is my favourite image during a visit to the Wildlife Park south of Jakarta at a place called Puncak. The Wildlife Park is similar to a zoo featuring wildlife from numerous countries. The owl has some form camouflage to the tree. The park sits at the base of an extinct volcano.

Overlooking the Kiewa Valley from Tawonga Pass, Mt Bogong being the highest peak in Victoria looms large. This mountain towers over beautiful Mt Beauty and in winter forms a wonderful snow capped backdrop to the valley.

During winter, it is possible to catch the setting sun against a snow capped Mt Feathertop. At sunset on a clear day, the suns rays illuminates the peak turning the snow cap a pink colour. This scene took me three attempts over 3 years to catch the phenomena. This was achieved August 2012.

The Ovens Valley of North East Victoria is renowned for its scenery and hilly regions. In winter, Mt Buffalo and nearby peaks of Mt Feathertop and Mt Hotham provides a unique alpine environment with snow capped peaks not found anywhere else on the Australian mainland.
